Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains how Flying Blind Ltd ("we", "us") handles information in our TapLingo app and on this website (www.flyingblind.co.uk). We are the data controller for the information described below. Our company details are on our About page, and you can contact us at contact@flyingblind.co.uk.
1. The short version
- TapLingo does not collect, store on our servers, or share any personal information.
- There are no accounts, no adverts and no third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
- Your settings and learning progress are saved on your own device and never sent to us.
- This website does not use cookies or analytics.
2. TapLingo app
Information stored on your device
To remember where you are, TapLingo saves things like your volume and sound preferences, your chosen voice, which words you have learned and how you got on in the games. This is stored locally on your device. We cannot see it, and it is deleted when you delete the app or clear its data.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera input, device identifiers, advertising identifiers or usage analytics. We do not use the app to track you across other apps or websites.
Children
TapLingo does not ask anyone for personal information, so it can be used by people of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
3. This website
Our website is a static information site. It does not use cookies, tracking pixels, advertising or analytics, and does not load fonts, scripts or other content from third-party services. Like any website, our hosting provider (Netlify, Inc.) may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs for security and to deliver the site. We do not receive or use this information to identify you.
If you email us, we will receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to respond to you and keep a record of the correspondence, on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in running our business and answering enquiries. We keep support emails for no longer than needed and never sell or share them for marketing.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your information. We only share it where required by law, or with service providers who help us run our email and website hosting under appropriate safeguards.
5. Your rights
Under UK data-protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of the personal data we hold about you, and to data portability where it applies. To exercise a right, email contact@flyingblind.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.
6. Security
Because TapLingo keeps your information on your device and our website holds no user accounts, there is very little for us to protect, but we follow sensible security practice for the email and hosting services we use.
7. Changes to this policy
If our practices change (for example, if a future version of an app collects data) we will update this policy and, where appropriate, tell you inside the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
